Train-the-Trainer Policy

This policy provides a framework for identifying training requirements for applicants that wish to qualify as Authorized HISP Instructors.

It focuses on learning objectives based upon the extent to which security knowledge is required by an individual as it applies to the HISP training course.

The training area for HISP trainers focuses on (1) the need to understand the ISO 27001 and ISO 27002 standards and (2) how the standards are used to implement a holistic information security management system and for that system to be effective.

The training for all instructors focuses on (1) recognizing the stakeholder's role in the security policy and the responsibilities assigned there, (2) using the security services and mechanisms effectively to maintain security.

The HISPI offers HISP Certification world-wide. The curriculum is provided to the instructors. All instructors are required to participate in an approved Train-the-Trainer program to be authorized to teach the HISP course. A certificate of completion shall be maintained in the instructor's file.

When train-the-trainer events are available, HISP Instructors will be required to attend in order to satisfy the requirements as outlined in this policy.

Authorized HISP trainer program requires that the trainee complete the following steps:

  1. Take the HISP training (public, private or web-based) and examination and attain HISP Certification
  2. Become a full member of the HISP Institute by paying the $50 annual membership due
  3. Submit your Resume for review
  4. Take the train-the-trainer program through one of the authorized HISP training partners, The trainer must be a lead trainer

Work with one of the authorized HISP training partners (initially eFortresses) as an authorized HISP instructor.
